Named after the capital and largest city in Taiwan, Taipei (pronounced tie-PAY), these snap-on bandanas feature abstract and patterned arcs on one side and smaller plum blossoms on the other. Taipei is home to many parks, buildings, and festivals as the cultural center of Taiwan. The patterned arcs and abstract shapes on the bandana remind me of the fans I used to use in cultural fan dancing I participated in when I was young. The different colors and shapes are reminiscent of the vibrant and flowing costumes we wore.
The bandana also spotlights plum blossoms, the national flower of Taiwan. Taipei has many parks that draw in visitors each year during plum blossom season - the flowers typically bloom around mid-January with its distinctive five-petaled rounded flowers.
